A remake of the movie El agente topo (2020)
Charles, a retiree, gets a new lease on life by answering a private detective ad and becomes the mole in an undercover investigation at a nursing home. Based on the Chilean documentary "El Agente Topo".
Before you know it, you feel so invested that you just have to know who!
Since we’re being honest, at first glance I’ll admit, I wasn’t really sure I’d be remotely interested in this show, but somehow it hooked me. All of the characters are very easy to fall in love with and are so relatable to someone in your life.
My favorite quote from the show is "Every big thing in your life, when you look back on it, seems like a miracle" Very poetic because it resonates with all of us
It’s also a gentle reminder that we’re all here trying to do the same thing, live & enjoy life, so we might as well do our best to understand and especially be kind to each other. I will also admit that it was a little strange to see Ted Danson in this role, especially if you are used to him as the Cheers character “Sam”; but very early on "Charles" tugs at your heartstrings without leaving any sad reminders of "Sam." A bittersweet yet gentle reminder that Father Time is not in the mix.
It’s a nice change of pace without leaving you feeling guilty about yet another "crime" on the show
Hopefully you will watch it and recognize and empathize with the daily challenges that some in our society have in our lives.
